Glenn Beck Gives Obama The Silent Treatment

In a visually compelling format Glenn Beck heaped justified ridicule on one of the many false precepts of progressivism, to wit, that it is somehow “unfair” that some people have more money than others.

To do this, Beck gave President Obama (and his audience) the silent treatment on his TV show. (video link)

As a video clip showed the president saying

We’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money.

Beck said nothing.

He went over to his chalkboard and began filling in how much money Obama’s friends and cronies have:

George Soros: $14 billion.

Oprah Winfrey: $245 million [that sounds really low for Oprah -MV].

Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton: $35 million.

Al Gore: $100 million (estimated).

Jeff Immelt: $5.1 million (a year).

Andy Stern: $306,000 (a year).

Franklin Raines: $65.3 million.

John Edwards: $30 million.

Michael Moore: $70 million [or so it appears -- it's hard to see the chalk from a long view on the TV screen -MV].

Throughout the segment Obama’s voice saying, “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money” plays over and over again.

At the end Beck writes on a separate chalkboard

Mr President,
Why don’t you ask your friends to set the example on how much is too much?

Let the first left-winger who is willing to draw a line between unacceptably high levels of wealth and acceptable levels of wealth donate his or her fortune to help reduce the national debt.
